Reality

Reality... Is it a question of time and space or idea and fantasy? Reality is the blurred concept that society captures with simple words. At the same time however, reality is what captures society and imprisons its concepts. Each person is imprisoned in their own version or concept of reality. Some believe that reality has them trapped in a world that has no happiness and no release, while others believe that the world owes them an opportunity, and happiness is a given right. The amusement of some people's reality therefore depends on the demise of other's reality. The world's reality depends on the balance of that uprise and demise in temperances.

why?

"Why"s and "why not"s overflow the thoughts of so many. So called realists or pessimists always pondering the questions of reality, all the while dreamers and loners figure why not and push on ahead. Such a fascinating role that society plays on itself. One group wondering why the other group is always ahead, while in most cases it was the wonder and thought and lack of competitive action that put them there."They" always try harder or "they" did that to make "me" look bad, maintains half of the pessimists' mantra. "I could have..." or "I didn't have time..." usually sums up the realist's enhanced prognosis of a situation. On the other hand, the simple idea of finishing the start or playing the game always entices the dreamer. What if and I wonder if I do this, ignites the creative impulses of the self-starting dreamer.

today

Today's society has tried to put the balance of reality out of sorts, but the truth is still out there. With the onslaught of so-called reality soap operas and a society of therapy ridden laxed microwavable computerized couch potatoes channel surfing the internet on over-sized remote controlled High Def plasma televisions, society is still broken into the "have"s and "have not"s. Breaking society into a smaller crumble would be to say the upper crust, the hard workers and the bottom feeders. Society spends most of its time spinning wonderful lies to itself on how fine things are. If things are so fine, then why so much disorder in the world? The reasoning is simple, most of society's reality is based on lies. Lies push the world in turn. Truth could break this chain, but reality is based on the lie that normal is good.

normal?

Normal... Another word based on perception and happenstance. Society's version of normal generally differs from person to person, based on experience and the status of being a "have" or "have not". Most people in the circle of "have" normalcy, it is believed that it is normal to have good meals, and dining out; a car and a warm place at night. In opposition the "have not" normalcy concerns with finding a job and escaping the bill collector; choosing between food and electricity; knowing the ins and outs of the legal system from personal experience and hoping its not time to get caught. Which of these defines normal? The reality answer to normal is every person believes that they are like everyone else, and only a minute difference separates them, but normal is an existence that they can achieve, when in fact normal can not be achieved. No person is normal. There is no true stereotype. We are each individuals with individual routines, beliefs and ideas. The truth to normal and reality is that each individual is out only for their own purpose and benefit.

Self-Preservation

The harsh realities of life are apparent. Many books have been written and anecdotes spoken about norms and reality depicting the fact that we are part of a "dog eat dog world" with no room for bones. We tend to make excuses for our interactions with society. Politically correct justifications for rudeness, masking our inherit need for self-preservation. Compliments grounded in uncertainty and deceit meriting no good intentions towards our neighbors. Manners that used to hold meaning and agreements that held weight because a person's name was given as reference are now looked upon as empty words, shells that are left empty with no seed of fortune to sew society a new growth. Where has the meaning of existence gone? If empty politics and hidden selfishness is the law of the land, how do we trust? Who do we trust? Is there a purpose to caring, when no one else does?

Society

Society has programmed itself into a new reality. The normal existence is one of not caring. Self indulgence is key to existence. Mindless activities and media that grant us a jaded view of the world. Degrading and despising one's self is accepted and promoted. Normal is subjective. Reality is subjective. The "have"s still have, the "have not"s still want. No one cares. We are the bane of our own existence. Revolution is only a thought. The revolution needs to be against our own minds, not the norms. We are the norms.
